The new Texarkana Regional Airport Terminal is a gateway for the Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas Region. As the first thing travelers experience when arriving to the twin cities, the terminal is designed to reflect the area’s culture and wood industry. The new terminal on the west side of the runway replaces the old east side facility. The new location provides a more direct connection to the regional traffic infrastructure and interstate system.
The design of the new terminal reflects the region’s timber industry, featuring sustainable glue-laminated wood construction with stone accents and steel detailing. The design of the new terminal also resembles a relaxing lodge or resort destination and acts as an introduction to the area’s rich outdoor sports and recreation culture.
The new terminal is 34,000 square feet, more than double the size of the old. The new facility includes a departure lobby on the second floor, expanded ticketing areas, and state-of-the-art baggage handling facilities. The new passenger screening spaces lead to a “community living room” at the heart of the new facility, complete with concession areas and a private passenger lounge area.
The new Texarkana Regional Airport Terminal is a gateway to the rich recreational and business opportunities of the tri-state area.
