In 2021, the growing City of Cabot passed a voter approved $90 million bond issue to fund several local municipal projects. One of those projects was the Cabot Justice Center. The city leadership wanted to create a municipal building for Police, District Courts, Lonoke County 911 dispatch and a Connect 2First, the city’s fiber internet provider. The total project cost was $15 million for the entire multi-phased project.
Cabot Justice Center is a 44,412sf state-of-the-art justice facility that provides a variety of uses for police and courts. This court room is designed to be multi-use and provides a meeting room for the District Court, City Council, Planning Commission and other public meetings.
The Police department is designed to provide new offices for administration, chief, patrol, detective, CID and k-9 units. The police department also has a large gym, a large evidence storage filing room that utilizes high-density file cabinets and a shared training room that both police and file utilize. Lonoke County 911 Dispatch, also called PSAP, is located in this facility and has 6 dispatch stations, dimmable lighting, large TV monitors and a large 200’ tall Motorola communications tower. The facility also houses administrative office and a small warehouse for Connect 2First, which is the city’s fiber internet provider.
The project was completed January 2025.
