The Texarkana Regional Airport Terminal serves as a gateway to the Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas region. Designed by WDD Architects, the new 34,000-square-foot terminal replaces the former facility and creates a modern travel experience that reflects the character, culture, and economic identity of the surrounding area.
More than doubling the size of the previous terminal, the project improves passenger flow, enhances operational efficiency, and strengthens regional connectivity. The facility provides expanded passenger amenities while supporting the airport’s continued growth as an important transportation hub for the tri-state region.
The terminal’s design draws inspiration from the region’s timber industry and outdoor heritage, incorporating sustainable glue-laminated wood construction, natural stone, and steel detailing. The architecture creates a warm, welcoming environment that evokes the character of a relaxing lodge while establishing a strong sense of place for travelers arriving in Texarkana.
Inside, the terminal is organized around a central passenger gathering space described as a “community living room.” Expanded ticketing and screening areas, improved baggage handling systems, concessions, and a private passenger lounge support a comfortable, efficient passenger experience while accommodating future growth.
