University of Arkansas John McDonnell Track & Field

To recognize the University of Arkansas’s decades of dominance in track and field, the university constructed a new track facility in honor of its former coach, John McDonnell, and selected WD&D Architects for planning, design and architectural services. WD&D Architects was advised by a specialized track and field design consultant. The university installed a IAAF Class I track ahead of hosting the NCAA Track and Field Championships. The facility was remodeled to include seating for 10,000 people, a new press box and additional space for concessions and locker rooms.
